The Real Secret to Earning Serious Cash selling eBooks

The ebook market is hands-down one of the most profitable market to enter. Think about it - NO inventory, NO shipping, INSTANT deliveries and so many other advantages makes this industry one of the fastest growing markets available.

So what is the problem? The problem is that many of the businesses in the ebook market have ecommerce websites which sell a wide range of these ebooks. Many of these ebooks are old and out of date and to compensate for this problem, the ebooks are sold at low prices. To successfully compete, new businesses must sell these same ebooks at even lower prices and will therefore make little money. The best marketing tipniche ebook business. This will help to differentiate your business from the other ones in the market.

What is a niche?
A niche is a small, specialised area within a market. The main thing to remember when starting your niche ebook business is to target a narrow customer base because this is your key to success. The idea here is to find a niche and then you either buy or create ebooks related to that niche area. For example, you could be a stay-at-home mom looking to start a home business. A good niche idea would be to start a business selling ebooks about babies. You could write your own ebooks or buy best-selling ebooks about babies and sell them to new mothers online. Narrowing the ebook market in this way will make you seem more of an expert in your field.

Once you have a list of possible niche ideas, you should do a lot of research. This is important even if you don't intend to write your own ebook because you will need to understand your market in order to successfully promote your business. Great places to gather information are online forums and websites related to your niche idea and ask questions about your niche idea. Find articles and other ebooks related to your topic. Research, Research and Research all ideas.

The next step is to narrow the list down to the ones you have enough information on. You must now determine whether there is actually a market for your chosem ideas i.e. whether there is enough customer demand. If you are starting a profit-making business you need enough people to buy your product so that you can make a profit. A great online resource to use is Nichebot (www.nichebot.com). This online keyword tool
is to start an ecommerce is great for helping to find out how many people are particularly interested in a particular keyword or keyphrase. You enter your keyword or keyphrase and you will get a list of related terms people searched for in the last month. As part of the results, you will also get the number of times people searched for your term and the related terms. This can be taken as a measure of demand.

You then need to determine the level of supply in the market. You do this by going to a search engine such as www.google.com and entering any of your keywords which had high demand. The number of search results found should be taken as supply. You should try to focus on niches which have relatively low supply. But, one important point to remember here is that some competition is good. Competition means that profit exists within that niche otherwise there would be no businesses operating there. Furthermore, competition means that there will be partners around for you to use in affiliate and joint venture programs. Also, you will be able to advertise on their sites and forums to seek traffic to your site. So supply should be low but it should not be non-existent. It should be low relative to consumer demand.

The niche idea which has relatively high customer demand and relatively low supply should be your new niche. U can now start writing your ebook. Once this is done, develop your website. If you are a beginner and you don't know how to do this then go to
http://www.w3schools.com.

Many of these steps to building a successful niche business such as research and web building, if done probably, can take a long time to do. So why not go to www.ebookpackagedeals.com to find some quality ready made niche ebook packages. These packages also include free templates that you could use to sell the ebooks.

Once you start selling and gaining some revenue, you can then start writing and publishing your own ebooks. You can develop your niche business even further by joining affiliate programs and joint venture schemes to sell other peoples products. You can establish your business so that when anybody wants some information from your niche market they would think about you first.

Fix and Recover Corrupted DBF Databases Automatically

Heavy-load workstations and busy environments are home to most database applications. A system crash or a power failure can easily damage an open database, causing loss of data and corrupted database structures. Once the problem is fixed and the workstation rebooted, the corrupted database will fail to open.

What would you do when pressured to get the database up and running right away? Reach for a backup just to discover it's a week old, or attempt to recover the database, risking causing irreparable damage to what's still left?

Don't panic! If your database uses DBF
files, your chances to get back all of the original data are extremely high if you use the right tool. Even if you don't know anything about the internal structure of DBF files, you still can get it fixed easily and automatically.

DBF Repair tool by www.dbf2002.com/dbf-
recovery/ recovers damaged and corrupted DBF files completely automatically. You can be a professional database manager or a complete novice - DBF Recovery will repair the broken database regardless of your experience. With DBF Recovery, you simply select the corrupted file, and the program does the rest completely automatically.

Why paying for DBF Recovery instead of just using any of the numerous recovery tools that
claim to repair your database in a matter of minutes? While DBF Recovery may not be as fast and as cheap as its freeware competitors, it does a much better job in correctly repairing the corrupted database structures and data records. Unlike many free database repair tools, DBF Recovery does not limit its operation to just the headers. The newly developed database recovery engine automatically detects the exact file format and database that created a DBF file, and thoroughly analyzes and repairs the structure of the database as well as all data records, resulting in the most comprehensive and quality recovery.

Have more corruption in supporting files? DBF Recovery fixes memo-files such as DBT and FPT in addition to DBF.

While new database administrators will certainly appreciate the unprecedented level of automation and the ease of use provided by DBF Recovery, expert users will enjoy the advanced features that provide even more automation to the database recovery process. Comprehensive command line parameters and batch mode support allow using DBF Recovery to process multiple databases automatically, or to fix certain database files on Windows startup.

Novice database users and advanced system administrators will appreciate the time savings provided by DBF Recovery. Supporting all DBF databases, including Dbase III and IV, FoxPro and Visual FoxPro, DBF Recovery is the perfect choice for a concerned database administrator. Recover Formatted NTFS Drives

If you have accidentally formatted a hard drive or partition, you will get an empty disk with no files on it. Don't consider your files lost just yet! If you didn't put any new files on the formatted partition, you can easily recover all of your original files complete with the original directory structure by using widely available un-format tools that are often available for free. But there is a good chance to recover the formatted partition even if you saved a few files on it, or even installed Windows onto it! Just don't attempt running a free un-format tool at this stage, as it will most probably just destroy what's been left of your files.

How is this even possible? To answer this question, I have to cover the way the formatting works. If you are in a rush to recover your work, skip this section completely and go to the recovery software recommendation part.

Windows needs to format your disks in order to prepare it for keeping data such as files and folders. When Windows formats a disk, it does not wipe off its entire contents as you might believe judging from the time it takes to complete the formatting. Instead, it simply creates new, empty file system records at the beginning of the disk. The lengthy time is spent on checking the disk for errors to ensure that every sector on the disk can read and write correctly, marking the bad ones in the file system. Once again, unless you perform a low-level format from the system BIOS (and you'll never do that), all the original information is left intact on the hard disk. The formatted disk appears blank because there is no record in the newly created file system about the files and directories that were originally stored on that disk.

There are two approaches to recovering the formatted disks. The first approach is employed by the many free un-format utilities that simply return the original file system in place of a new one. This approach works if you have just formatted the disk and didn't write anything onto it; if you formatted the disk with the same type of file system (FAT or NTFS), and if you used the same cluster size. You have to meet all of these conditions in order for the free tools to work. Otherwise, you'll get something worse than an empty disk: a corrupted one.

If you weren't that careful when choosing the matching parameters to format your disk, you have no choice but the second type of recovery software: the data recovery tools. Before you begin installing data recovery software, please note that you don't want to write anything onto the disk you are about to recover. So be careful not to save the data recovery product onto that disk, and not to install it there. Otherwise, you are taking the risk of overwriting your original files.

If your original file system (not the new one!) was NTFS, download and install 1st NTFS Recovery from http://ntfs-recovery.com, run the installed application and select the formatted partition when prompted. That's it! 1st NTFS Recovery will take care of the rest.

Is it that simple? In a word, yes. 1st NTFS Recovery scans the formatted disk looking for files. It has special algorithms to detect Office documents, digital pictures, ZIP and RAR archives, so your chances of getting back the valuable stuff are pretty high.

After 1st NTFS Recovery is done with recovering your files, it proceeds to restoring the formatted disk to its original state. You don't have to do anything but click the Next button on a disk recovery wizard!

Indonesia sex tape star goes on trial

One of Indonesia's top celebrities has gone on trial for his alleged role in sex videos which appeared on the internet.

Pop star Nazril "Ariel" Irham has been charged under Indonesia's controversial anti-pornography law.
The 29-year-old could face 12 years in jail for the two home-made films, which are said to feature him and two female companions.

The scandal has attracted huge attention in Indonesia.

Some say it highlights the stringent nature of Indonesia's anti-pornography law, enacted in 2008 after considerable debate.

'Moral decline'

Others - including hard-line Islamic groups - say it is an example of moral decline among young people in Indonesia and should be dealt with harshly.

Ariel has been in custody since surrendering to police in June.

Ahead of his trial in Bandung, West Java, he urged fans not to come to the court to avoid clashing with an Islamic group that planned to protest there.

But about 500 people nonetheless gathered outside the court as proceedings were held behind closed doors, AFP news agency reported.

The singer was accompanied by his girlfriend, TV presenter Luna Maya, who is said to be the woman in one of the two videos.

The woman alleged to appear in the other, Cut Tari, is a soap opera star previously linked to the singer.

The two women are not facing charges. All three deny involvement in the sex tapes.

Nazril 'Ariel' Irham, Indonesia Pop Star, On Trial For Sex Tapes

Indonesian pop star is on trial for distributing pornography after two sex tapes, said to feature him and two fellow celebrities, leaked online, the BBC is reporting

Nazril "Ariel" Irham appeared at the closed-door trial in Bandung district court, West Java province, facing criminal charges including those filed under Indonesia's controversial 2008 anti-pornography law, prosecutor Rusmanto told reporters.

According to the AFP, more than 500 officers were on hand outside the courthouse to keep Ariel's legions of adoring fans -- mostly young women, who staged impromptu sing-a-longs of the star's hit songs -- as well as packs of radical Islamists, who carried banners calling for the harshest punishments possible, at bay.

A former lead singer of the pop group Peterpan, Ariel has been detained since June after appearing in the steamy clips along with actress girlfriend Luna Maya and Indonesian television personality Cut Tari. He appeared relaxed in a grey shirt and black trousers as he thanked fans for their support, adding, "I've read the charges. I'm ready to face anything."

According to reports, Ariel's case has divided Indonesians, many of whom say it highlights the stringent nature of Indonesia's anti-pornography laws, enacted in 2008 after considerable debate. "There are so many cases like this...why are they freed and not Ariel? Is it because he's famous?" one fan told AFP. Meanwhile, supporters of the law say they won't rest until the star faces the music. "I want him to be severely punished," said Islamic hardliner Hirman Firdaus, who went on to call the singer a threat to society. "This is immoral."

What Goal Setting Activities Are Important

Goal setting activities
are crucial when you are deciding what you want your life to become many years from now. Two of the benefits you will receive as a result of defining and setting major goals in life are peace of mind and focus.

Here are some of the goal setting activities that are of importance.

1. Use your mind and talents fully. Maximize what has been given you. If you are aware that you are capable of things that other people are not, make it work to your advantage.

2. Have more purpose and direction in life. Believe it or not, there are many people who only discover what they want in life in later years. Think of all the time that was wasted. It is important to have specific goals early on in life to be able to have more time to work on them and bring them into reality.

3. Make better decisions. Do not be hasty in whatever endeavors you encounter in life. Not all things have to be decided on instantly. Think fully before making any decision that you might regret later on.

4. Be more organized and effective. Take note that not all people who are always rushing things and on the go are the most effective people. There are other considerations in life that have to be neatly planned to have an effective result. Sit down for a moment and make a schedule or plan.

5. Do more for yourself and others. Too much and too less of giving and taking is not always good. There are times when we have to balance these factors. Know which one needs your attention more, yourself or others? Although it is not always a problem, you have to have equal time set for both.

6. Have greater confidence and self-worth. One of the greatest threats that can pull you down is lack of self-confidence and self-worth. If you do not have that belief in yourself, why should others put their faith in you? Other people that are lacking in talent and resources can get through by oozing self-confidence to help them pursue their goals.

7. Feel more fulfilled. Be happy with the simple things that you have attained in a day. Do not set aside small victories as something that are worthless. All achievements should make you feel proud. Pat yourself on the back once in awhile when achieving these seemingly insignificant victories.

8. Be more enthusiastic and motivated. Face each day as a day different from the last. Try to make each day a work of art, a masterpiece.

9. Accomplish uncommon projects. Nothing can compare with the feeling when you have done something that few others have. Try to be successful in things that other people are shying away from.

10. Always want more. Do not be satisfied with what you have. Try to get more out of life.

Once you have completed one goal, be sure to replace it with something else. Goal setting achievements are a life-long process. You have all the time in the world to do what you want. This way you will always reap the benefits of what your goal settings has provided.

Finding Hot Selling Products to Sell Online

In order to locate products that sell online, we need to understand what people already want to buy. Finding a good choice of idea or product is always accompanied by interfacing the demand for the product in the current market and the level of competition or market share that the product will be having in the long run.

"What should I sell? What products are hot selling? These are the questions most people are trying to find an answer in order for them to make the definite decision. And if we really want to know the answer to this question, our only choice is to do some research. There are all kinds of twists along the road that may lead you to think you have a high-demand idea. We must be able to understand and satisfy the need, wants and expectations of our customers on a certain product that they're trying to buy. This three are called the basic needs or minimum requirements in a purchase. Needs are the basic reasons or the minimum requirements consumers are looking for in a product or service. They are called the qualifying or "gatekeeper" dimensions in a purchase. Wants are the determining dimensions among many choices. Expectations, on the other hand, are values or intangibles associated with a product or service. Expectations are actually part of "wants" but they become extremely important when products or services are not differentiated.

For example, in reading a logic book, university students look for the following: Relevant logic concepts use of simple language, easy to understand and affordable prices. These similar ideas can be applied to Internet Sales as well. After all, the Internet is just another place to sell products. The basic concept of demand is the same there as it is anywhere else, and has been all the time.

Now, the second thing that must be considered in finding "hot" products to sell are the level of competition or the market shares do your product will have. Market share or level of competition means the ratio of your brand sales versus the total market sales. While companies would naturally define its target competitors, it is actually the consumers who ultimately decide the competitive frame, or the list related products or services that consumers consider when exercising their purchasing power. We must therefore choose the market segment where we can have a potential leadership or at least a strong challenger role. Because the overriding objective of getting into this business is not just to satisfy the needs and wants of our customers but to do so profitably better than his competition. Otherwise, our competition will end up satisfying the customers better than our own interest.

And here are several factors or aspects that must be measured: (a) not enough demand means not enough people are going to buy (b) too much competition means not enough of a profit to go around (c) too much advertising drives up the price of pay per click ads, and competition as well (d) not enough general interest, combined with low demand, means there may not be a good market even if there is competition trying to make the sales.

Are Autoresponders really that important to internet marketing?

Essentially, there's no internet marketing without autoresponders, and vice versa. It's very simple: without the use of autoresponders, it's impossible to succeed at Internet Marketing nowadays. Autoresponders can take over many of those marketing tasks that make an online business successful.

As an Internet Marketer, you'll probably agree when I say Internet Marketing is pretty time consuming. A big part of your marketing arsenal are your autoresponders. They can be used to stay in touch with your existing customers, but they're even more important as a tool to develop a relationship with your potential customers.

With an autoresponder, you can deliver sales messages or email courses. You can send reminders and some autoresponders can help you to build your list. When you think about it for a minute, you can probably come up with plenty of ideas how to use your autoresponder to generate more sales en to build relations with your customers. A bit of creativity on your side, creates endless possibilities.

When you want to become a successful internet Marketer, you need to know this: an opt-in list and an autoresponder are vital to any type of online marketing. In fact, if you would take away all of their marketing tools, most marketers would fight to the death to be able to keep their list and autoresponder!

Why Do You Need To Eat Tomatoes?

Do you eat tomatoes? Of course you have known that tomatoes are now eaten easily around the world. You can find tomatoes everywhere as part of fruits and vegetables.

Some experts said that tomato is known as a source of power of nutrition, as it contains a large number of vitamins and minerals that can support our body's health.

Tomatoes have been first cultivated in Peru, and then brought to Mexico. Now, tomatoes are sold everywhere. In American grocery stores, tomatoes are often picked unripe, and ripened in storage with ethylene.

Which one is better, unripe or ripe?

Tomatoes that are ripened in storage with ethylene, plant hormone produced by many fruits and acts as the cue to begin the ripening process, tend to stay longer, but have poorer flavor than tomatoes ripened on the plant. They may be recognized by their color, which is more pink or orange than the ripe tomato's deep red.

Based on the nutrition content, red tomatoes have more vitamin A than green tomatoes. But in this case, green tomatoes have more protein.

If you eat tomatoes everyday, it is beneficial in preventing cancer to 50%. Tomatoes will fight different kinds of cancer and protect your heart from heart attack.

Why tomatoes are beneficial for health?

Tomatoes contain various kinds of ingredients. Here are some of them:

*Lycopene, one of nature's most powerful antioxidants. It is beneficial to fight different kind of diseases, most of all to fight cancer.

*Fiber in tomatoes prevents diabetes, asthma, colon cancer, and lowers the amount of cholesterol from the body.

*Vitamin C and A, antioxidants which fight free radical. They fight against aging, soothe skin and hair.

*Potassium, vitamin B6, folate, and niacin have proven effect in lowering cholesterol level, lowering blood pressure and works against heart disease.

*Vitamin K in tomatoes helps to build bone.

*Chromium and biotin make the body's ability to process sugar and fat, which may improve fighting diabetes and help nerve function.

*Riboflavin helps with energy metabolism and fights against migraine headaches.
So, if you consume ripe, unripe or tomato-based food products (tomato sauce, tomato pasta etc.) all deliver many nutrients with multiple mechanisms of action to prevent you from different kinds of diseases.

Secure E-Mail With Google GMail

This is something I've set up myself, recently, to send mail through Gmail without having the unencrypted e-mail stored on their servers. To achieve this, you'll need a Google GMail account, PGP or GnuPG, Mozilla Thunderbird, and the Enigmail extension.

First, set your Gmail account to allow POP3 access. This can be set in your mail settings within the web interface. The Gmail system will tell you the settings you need to make in Thunderbird in order to use this.

Next, get Thunderbird and the Enigmail extension, and install both, along with PGP or GnuPG. Then, enter

You'll need to create a PGP key associated with your e-mail address. In PGP, do this using the GUI

Finally, associate the keypair with your e-mail address, in the Enigmail settings within Thunderbird, and ensure that e-mail defaults to signed and encrypted. Collect public keys from those people with whom you wish to correspond privately, and add those to your PGP or GnuPG keyring. Enigmail will then encrypt e-mail sent to those people, and decrypt e-mail sent from them to you. Mail to a recipient whose key you do not have will not be encrypted, unless GnuPG / PGP can find a key for them on the public keyservers.

Secure e-mail prevents others reading private communications and the signing process authenticates the e-mail message as being from you. your account settings into Thunderbird, as per the Google page. interface. With GnuPG, type gpg –gen-key and follow the instructions. You can set the key type, key size (Go with at least 2048 bits. Many people use 4096) and the expiry date. Some people set their keys never to expire, I like a key duration of 6 months, so that I end up recreating keys twice a year, but at least if someone breaks or otherwise acquires my key during that time, they won't have long to do it, nor to use it, before it gets changed again!

Falling For A Friend Is Nothing Out Of The Ordinary

Falling for a friend is nothing out of the ordinary. Falling for a friend can happen quite often, especially between two people that share a lot of things in common with each other.

Friends usually spend a lot of time together. Friends often do the same things together. Commonality is the main reason people become friends. However there are times when too much familiarity can be mistaken for something more.

This type of situation happens mainly between friends of different gender. Kindness and friendly affection can easily be confused with feelings of love. Quite often, women are the ones that fall prey to this attraction. However many men have also been in the same situation.

Gestures that would normally mean nothing are misconstrued as something more than it is. A lot of people get mixed signals about friendships with the opposite sex. Situations like these are normal but it is up to the individual to figure how he or she will handle it.

Falling for a Friend – Is it Mutual?

Is it mutual? People that end up falling for a friend should consider if the feeling is in fact mutual. Unfortunately most friendships are just friendships. Falling for a friend can one way or another complicates the friendship.

All people value friendship, especially with the opposite sex, since many find it hard to maintain a platonic relationship with the other sex. Because of this, they have a tendency to avoid situations wherein falling for a friend would virtually end the friendship.

In general, many men and women are true and dedicated friends. However there are some men and women who cannot resist their attraction to the opposite sex. Many romantics often fall victim to this situation and end up spoiling any chance of a successful relationship with the opposite sex.

How to Handle the Situation of Falling For a Friend

Once a person has established that he or she has indeed fallen for his or her friend, it is necessary to figure out the next move. The next move is crucial to the survival of the friendship. A person that has fallen in love with a friend can either take advantage of the situation or let the feeling pass

Most of the time, a loyal friend would merely let the sentiment pass. Taking into account all the reasons why falling for a friend would be detrimental to the friendship. This is possibly because most romantic relationships never last whereas nearly all friendships last a lifetime.

A lot of people also let the feeling pass for fear of embarrassment. Especially if the feeling is not mutual, which is often the case when falling for a friend. Unfortunately this can also cause a person extreme anxiety that can also strain the friendship.

On the other hand there are some people who are willing to risk the friendship in the name of love. These individuals take the chance of freely expressing their feelings for a friend. However the person must also be ready to face the possibility that the feeling would not be reciprocated.

This makes the situation more complex as getting back into the friendship after a public declaration of affection can also strain the relationship. In most cases, both parties start to feel awkward in each other's company. One feels guilty for expressing their emotion while the other feels guilty for being unable to return the affection.

However if both parties genuinely share the feeling, then it would certainly be a match made in heaven for both parties. This means that the relationship has the opportunity of blossoming into a legitimate and possibly lasting relationship.

It would still require a lot of hard work and commitment from both parties involved. But keep in mind that this is a once in a lifetime opportunity that may or may not happen.

Falling for a friend is a tough situation for any man or woman to face. The risk of losing the friendship is imminent and even more painful for the aggrieved party. On the other hand falling for a friend can bring about a beautiful future between two people that genuinely care for one another provided both are willing to work at it.

Five Vacations to Make You Feel Younger

Your eyesight is going. Your hair is thinning. And you can't for the life of you remember what you just went upstairs for. Can hip-replacement surgery be far off? What you need is a vacation. And not just any vacation, either. As the forward brigade of Baby Boomers turns 65 in January, USA TODAY's Jayne Clark suggests five trips to take years off your attitude.

Driving school revs those old engines

The adventure: Learn to drive an open-wheel race car at speeds of up to 130 mph.
The premise: A healthy shot of adrenaline can lift a sagging outlook.

The particulars: Skip Barber's three-day Formula Car Racing School is the anti-golf vacation. The mostly male denizens of the school master double-clutch/heel-and-toe downshifting, high-speed drafting and passing, in the classroom and on the track.

Most participants are thrill-seeking Boomers "looking to escape everyday life, as well as to learn something," says spokesman Kyle Morham. "It's fun. Plus, you can do this after your knees give out."

Longtime race fan and voice-over actor Pat Daly, 57, of New York, took the course when he turned 50 and discovered that racing "challenges you physically, mentally and emotionally, and it lit me up."

It also changed his life. Daly has continued to race -- and win -- in the Skip Barber Summer Regional Race Series and now instructs new drivers at the school.

Qualifications: Must be able to drive a stick shift and be willing to sign a liability waiver.

Details: Cost of the three-day racing school is $3,999 and includes breakfast and lunch. It's offered 36 times a year at racetracks in Lime Rock, Conn., Greater Atlanta and Monterey, Calif. 800-221-1131; skipbarber.com

Tune up at rock camp

The adventure: Make like a rock star in a crash course culminating in a live gig.

The premise: Even aging rock 'n' rollers exude a certain youthfulness.

The particulars: Ladies Rock Camp is a twice-yearly fundraiser for the Rock 'n' Roll Camp for Girls in Portland, Ore. On Day 1, you select an instrument (guitar, bass, drums) and by afternoon, you're a member of a rock band! On Day 3, the bands perform original songs in a local club. There's no experience necessary -- about half the campers have never played a musical instrument.

"I taught a woman to play bass. When she arrived, she didn't know what a bass was," says program manager Marisa Anderson. "That's the cool thing about rock 'n' roll. It doesn't have to be perfect. ... If your heart is good and you make a noise, it's going to carry."

Alumna Lori Pesavento, 54, a classical violist and counselor who took up the electric guitar, calls the camp "an amazing bonding experience" that "inspired me to take a break in my life to discover what the next phase will be."

Qualifications: Willingness to take a creative risk.

Details: 2011 camps are May 13-15 and Oct. 21-23. Tuition is $390, including some meals. 503-445-4991; girlsrockcamp.org

Safari adventure can come with a big lift

The adventure: Go on safari and get nipped and tucked while you're at it.
The premise: There's nothing like cosmetic surgery, which costs less in South Africa, to make you feel rejuvenated. And you can see some big game.

The particulars: Surgeon & Safari in Johannesburg can arrange all sorts of medical procedures, performed by skilled doctors, but for the 55-and-over set, face-lifts/eyelid lifts and tummy tucks/breast reductions are most in demand. Owner Lorraine Melville handles the details, from setting up pre-op interviews and tests, to accompanying you to the hospital, to keeping loved ones informed. A 12-day stay is the usual time required for a face-lift, including post-op care at Melville's guesthouse, where extras include fruit acid peels. She can arrange day safaris during recuperation or book longer trips into the bush pre- or post-op.

Joan Paul, 67, of Fort Lauderdale, went on pre- and post-op safaris during her jaunt, but the real purpose of the trip was to return with a younger, yet natural, look.

"I wanted to come back looking refreshed. Not all stretched and pumped up and weird-looking," says the retired teacher.

Nine years later, she has no regrets, though she's ready for a tune-up. "It's natural to have a little vanity, and if you have the money, do it!"

Qualifications: Realistic expectations.

Details: A full face-lift, including the neck and temples and supplemental liposuction under the chin, plus an eyelid lift, is $9,000, including hospitalization. Lodging at the guesthouse, with meals, laundry, transfers and post-op care, is $2,500. The safari costs extra. surgeon-and-safari.co.za

6 ways to save online

Retailers have been hit hard by the slower economy, with sales still sluggish as the country works toward a recovery. Online retailers are bucking this trend, however, with online sales up 13.6% since last year. Without the overhead that brick-and-mortar stores have, online retailers are able to offer bigger discounts and lower prices in general. Bargain shoppers have figured out the best deals are on the web. Here are six ways you too can save big by shopping online. (For more background, read Profiting From A Consumerless Recovery.)

1) Compare Prices and Reviews
In the past, price comparing meant spending the day driving all over town, looking for the best deal going store to store. When shopping online, you can compare prices from the comfort of your home and even get websites to compare prices for you. Search engines like Smarter.com, Pricegrabber.com, Amazon.com and Bizrate.com will not only give you the best price, they'll often tell you how much shipping will set you back, and how the vendor is rated in customer service. You can even get customer reviews on the product you're considering; for reviews by professionals, try ConsumerReports.org, and CNET.com for your electronics purchases.

2) Find Discount Codes
Are you getting the best deal possible? Before you buy that product, do a quick search for discount code; a simple search with your vendor name, like "Target coupon code," will get you the results you need. If you're just browsing for deals, try sites like Couponcraze.com, Couponmountain.com or Currentcodes.com; most allow you to search alphabetically or by category. Many vendors will offer you a one-time, first-time customer discount if you sign up for their email list - a great way to save, if you don't mind the emails. (Find out more, in Coupon Shopping: Clip Your Way To Savings.)

3) Look for Free Shipping
Consider all of that gas you're burning, driving to buy that item you want. You can save the fuel and the time by shopping online -- plus, many vendors offer free shipping to sweeten the deal. For some items, like furniture and other bulky things that you would otherwise have to pay your brick-and-mortar retailer to deliver, this can mean big savings. Just make sure that the price of the item isn't inflated to accommodate the shipping cost.

4) Unite and Save
Larger groups of people are often offered discounts. Now, there's a way to do this online: Groupon.com sends out daily (local) deals for anything from restaurant gift cards at half the price, to entertainment and lodging deals. If enough people sign up for the deal, you get a substantial group discount.

5) Auction
Most people are familiar with eBay, and how you can bid on items to get a lower price. But there are many other auction sites, like Ubid.com and Overstock.com, where you can get a bargain by bidding online. One word of caution: it's very easy to get caught up in the bidding process and overpay. To make sure you don't get lost in the frenzy; make sure you're bidding on an item you truly want, and set a price limit beforehand.

6) Print Coupons
The Sunday paper isn't the only place to get coupons anymore. You can now print them on your computer, and bring them in to the store. Sites like Coupons.com will let you print coupons with barcodes to cut your grocery bill; just check with your grocery store to make sure they accept printed coupons. Signing up at your favorite store's website will often get you coupons, too -- World Market, for instance, has an extensive customer loyalty plan, sending discount coupons right to your email inbox. (Learn how to live within your means, in 6 Months To A Better Budget.)

The Bottom Line
Still hesitant to shop online? Even if you're not buying on the net, web browsing is a smart way to do your research, from comparing prices to checking if your local store has the item you want in stock. Sometimes the website of your local store has your purchase at a lower price than advertised in the store, in which case they'll likely match the price. Whether you're buying online or not, with these tips, the web is your superhighway to big savings.

Top 10 investments for baby boomers

The official first baby boomer started collecting Social Security payments in late 2007, beginning a long and powerful wave of boomers reaching retirement age. As a demographic with more concentrated spending power than any other on the globe, how these individuals invest and spend will have a profound impact on the investment landscape and the U.S. economy as a whole. (For more on the impact of the baby boomer generation, check out Demographic Trends And The Implications For Investment.)
If you're approaching retirement, the choices you make now will affect your financial future for 20 years or more, as the average life expectancy for baby boomers is 83 years and rising. Below are 10 investments -- some specific types of assets and securities, others account vehicles -- you should consider.

Investment No. 1: U.S. Treasuries
Any good list of investments for retirement-aged individuals could start and end here. Treasuries are the ultimate in safe, reliable investing -- in fact, their yields are often considered the literal benchmark of safety (the risk-free rate of return) -- when modeling more risky investments. The U.S. government has never defaulted on a Treasury bond, making them a beacon for investors all over the world. However you access exposure to Treasuries -- via mutual funds, exchange-traded funds (ETFs) or individual bonds -- they should have a high weighting in your overall portfolio.

For the vast majority of investors over the age of 60, capital preservation is more important than capital appreciation (such as gains from stocks). Treasuries provide this, along with a steady stream of income and a good shot at preserving your assets in the face of inflation. Corporate and municipal bonds are also solid investments in the same vein, but default rates are higher and more research may need to be done on the part of the investor to evaluate their merits. (Read more in Buy Treasuries Directly From The Fed.)

Investment No. 2: Certificates of Deposit (CDs)
In addition to often paying a higher yield than Treasuries (of the same maturity), CDs have the feel-good factor of giving your money to a bank, along with its Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC) insurance. The all-important threshold is $250,000 per bank; that's the limit up to which the FDIC insures individual account holders. Amounts greater than this should be spread out over several different banks. (This goes for checking and savings accounts as well. Read Bank Failure: Will Your Assets Be Protected? to learn how the FDIC protects your money.)

A service called the Certificate of Deposit Account Registry Service (CDARS) allows you to deposit more than the FDIC limit at participating banks. Other banks in the network will effectively insure portions of your investment by creating CDs for you at their banks. All of your money stays in one place (and so does your personal information) while you get FDIC insurance on the whole of your deposit -- and just one 1099 form come tax time. You can go to CDARS.com to find more information and  see if your bank is a member of the service.

If you wish to hold several individual CDs, consider using a laddering strategy whereby you spread maturity dates out evenly over a window of three to five years. This way you don't have all your money committed at one interest rate, and you can benefit from higher rates that may be available one or two years from now. (Learn more in Step Up Your Income With A CD Ladder.)

Investment No. 3: Unit Investment Trusts (UIT)
Unit investment trusts often come with little fanfare, and you won't see them advertised as heavily as mutual funds or other investment products. The reason is that they're generally not as profitable for the people creating and managing them. And that's great news for investors in the know.

UITs can have either stocks or bonds as their holdings, but most unit trusts will have a deliberate focus on either capital appreciation or generating a consistent income. The key differentiating feature between mutual funds and UITs is that with unit trusts, the portfolio is established once, and remains fixed for the life of the investment. Typically no changes are made to the portfolio after the initial public offering. With debt UITs, when individual bonds mature, each investor receives his or her pro-rata share of the redeemed bond as cash. (Learn more about the basics of UITs in 20 Investments You Should Know: Unit Investment Trusts.)

While investors know exactly what they're getting up front, unit trusts also come with a big tax advantage over mutual funds. You're only responsible for the capital gains that you earned -- you'll never be faced with paying capital gains tax on somebody else's money, as often happens with mutual funds. (Read more about saving on capital gains tax in Capital Gains Tax Cuts For Middle-Income Investors.)

Most UITs have good liquidity and can be traded daily at or near net asset value (NAV). They can be found at most of the major fund companies or through your broker.

Investment No. 4: A Managed Sub-Account With a Registered Investment Advisor
Putting at least a fair portion of your liquid net worth into the hands of a trusted investment professional is the single best choice for most people. There are enough professional certifications within the world of investing to make anybody's head spin, but a good registered investment advisory (RIA) firm should have both Chartered Financial Analysts (CFA) and/or Certified Financial Planners® (CFP®) in its employ. (Read more in The Alphabet Soup Of Financial Certifications.)

A registered investment advisor earns fees (typically as a percentage of assets) for the service of creating and maintaining a portfolio custom-suited to each investor. They are registered with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) and must adhere to strict reporting and presentation standards to ensure fairness to investors. (Read more in What Is A Registered Investment Advisor?)

The minimum investment required to get started used to be quite high, but RIAs are no longer just for the high-net-worth group. Thanks to cost savings from electronic trading and other recent market efficiencies, RIAs can take on new clients with as little as $100,000 dollars in some cases.

This option provides great tax advantages in that a professional with knowledge of your whole tax situation can be managing your gains and losses for the year. Also, it's nice to have a seasoned pro watching over your portfolio -- someone who can manage financial events that will shape your life in the coming decades. Good advisors will also give advice about your overall picture, including assets not managed by them directly.

Fees will vary, but this competitive field can be accessed for about 1% per year, roughly the same as your average mutual fund. (Read more in Paying Your Investment Advisor -- Fees Or Commissions?)

Investment No. 5: Life-Cycle Funds
Life-cycle funds are meant to change over time, becoming less risky with their investments as their investors age. Almost all life-cycle funds will specify a target date in their titles, and while you'll want to verify exactly what that date means by reading the fund prospectus, most represent a target date for the retirement of its shareholders. For example, the Vanguard Target Retirement 2025 Fund structures its asset allocation for investors reaching retirement age between 2023 and 2027. (To learn more, read Life-Cycle Funds: Can It Get Any Simpler?)

Life-cycle funds are a solid choice for investors who want a one-stop holding over the course of many years. On day one of their existence, these funds will likely have the highest risk level they will ever have; over time, the funds will increasingly focus on income generation and capital appreciation by increasing fixed-income asset exposure and scaling back stock exposure.

Many life-cycle funds can be purchased with no sales loads, and many offer competitively low expense ratios as well. Some funds will hold sets of other mutual funds or ETFs, while others have individual securities selected by fund managers.

Investment No. 6: DRIP Plans
Dividend reinvestment plans (known as DRIPs) allow investors to have their quarterly dividend checks automatically reinvested into a single dividend-paying company. Hundreds of companies offer these plans, including most of the large-cap companies that make up indexes like the Dow Jones Industrial Average and the S&P 500 index.

DRIP programs may be offered by the company itself, or by a third party like your broker or a transfer agent. The main advantages of DRIP programs include:
  • The ability to dollar-cost average into a stock automatically
  • Savings on stock commissions -- in most cases there are no trading fees
  • The option to purchase fractional shares and even buy shares at below-market prices
  • The ability to get started for as little as $10 and add money over time
DRIP plans need to be balanced out with other investments, as they don't do much to diversify your portfolio. But they are generally a very cheap way to get increasing exposure to top-notch companies -- the kind that have historically provided the best returns to investors. You can find out if your favorite company offers a DRIP plan by contacting their investor-relations group or visiting their website. Also check with your broker to see about any special programs that may be available through your existing accounts. (For more information, read The Perks Of Dividend Reinvestment Plans.)

Investment No. 7: Real Estate
You may find yourself considering a second property, a rental property or a conversion from a paid-off mortgage in your primary home to a smaller, more efficient home. Any of these can be a good choice, able to provide asset diversification, tax savings and a place to spend some of that all-important extended vacation time. (To read about the benefits of moving to a smaller home, see Downshift To Simplify Your Life.)

Real estate decisions are not to be taken lightly, and most investors should strongly consider consulting advisors before pulling the trigger on any transaction. Your whole picture should be considered, such as your net-worth diversification, your liquidity needs and your personal tax situation. But many people enjoy the prospect of moving into a smaller home, possibly even in a new area and with modern energy-saving and green amenities. Others like to have a property they can rent out, which often can pay for most of or the entire mortgage. (For more on buying rental property, see Top 10 Features Of A Profitable Rental Property.)

Investment No. 8: Variable Annuity (VA)
As you approach and reach the retirement phase of life, the value of insurance becomes ever clearer. While the traditional whole life policy has not been completely wiped out of the marketplace, newer products and theories have gone to the forefront of insurance action items. One new product is the variable annuity, which allows investors to hold what is essentially an insurance policy, with the caveat that cash balances can be invested into stock and bond holdings.

This provides the opportunity for gains on the cash balances above inflation, a key component to keeping the value of your insurance over time. It's best to be stingy when selecting a variable annuity, however, as fees tend to vary widely. Be sure to understand all the fees you'll be charged, including annual fees, underlying investment fees and both front- and back-end sales fees. (For more on assessing the benefits of VAs against the costs, read Variable Annuities With Living Benefits: Worth The Fees?)

Most financial planners feel that variable annuities are best suited to people who have some level of concern about themselves or their beneficiaries outliving their money. To buy one you essentially give up some potential investment returns in order to have the added safety of insurance. (Learn some strategies for ensuring your money will last as long as you need it in Managing Income During Retirement.)

Investment No. 9: Individual Retirement Account (IRA)
No list would be complete without this cornerstone of the modern retirement portfolio. If you've been investing for many years, chances are high that you've already got a well-funded IRA. All of your 401(k) assets should end up in either a Traditional or Roth IRA shortly after you head out the door of your last job. And if you're over the age of 50, you can add extra to your account over the standard annual contribution limits. IRAs eliminate capital gains taxes and can drastically reduce your future tax bills. (Compare the two main types of IRAs in Roth Or Tradition IRA…Which Is The Better Choice?)

When transferring assets in to a Roth, you'll have to take the short-term hit by paying income taxes, but you'll gain the huge advantage of receiving tax-free income for every penny of it down the road. When planning moves to and from IRA accounts, it is again better to either know all the rules or consult a tax pro. You may find it easier to move chunks of money over several years to spread out your tax bill. But if you hope to be drawing down on your IRA for 20 years or more, the tax savings in the future makes the Roth the best option. (Learn the requirements regarding tax and penalty fees for withdrawing funds in Tax Treatment Of Roth IRA Distributions.)

Assets in your IRA should reflect your overall asset allocation. For many people, the IRA already represents the bulk of their net worth, so proper allocation of investments is all the more important. Most standard securities like stocks, bonds and funds can be bought inside an IRA account, and the IRA itself can be maintained for minimal fees at thousands of financial institutions. Finally, IRA assets can be passed on through your estate to keep the power of compounding going for your heirs. (Read about passing on your retirement savings in Stretch Your IRA.)

Investment No. 10: The Wild Card
This spot is reserved for all of you who feel a twinge of fear when considering 20-plus years with nothing to do. Good investment ideas often involve being creative and knowing what you love to do. Anything you enjoy can potentially become a good investment opportunity, such as:
  • Paintings and fine arts
  • Classic cars
  • Sports memorabilia
  • Coins and collectibles
  • Starting your own business
Of course there are boundaries here. There's no sense in starting a business to keep busy, only to get in over your head. But if you have an interest (preferably combined with a fair amount of knowledge) in a particular area, you should feel empowered to take it as far as you like. After all, we live in an increasingly age-defying world, where passions and energies aren't just for the under-40 crowd. (For tips on starting your own business, read Start Your Own Small Business.)

Any of the above categories, and many more, could make for a fine investment, provided that you don't put more than a small percentage (think 5-10% max) of your net worth into it and you understand that with more esoteric investments come limitations on liquidity and other issues like physical protection, insurance and market inefficiencies.

A Safer Way to Recover Damaged Partitions

Repairing damaged partitions on is a risky business. Even if you use the best toolkit and are absolutely sure in what you are doing, you are still risking your files shall something go wrong. Changes made to the damaged partition are irreversible; it is just too easy to overwrite an important system structure that holds vital information about your disk, files and data. Bottom line: it's good to backup before performing data recovery. But is this really the best way to do it?

There is a different approach to do data
recovery that is even safer. No need to backup and restore during the recovery. Instead of making a backup copy of corrupted data, you can simply take a binary snapshot of the partition being repaired, and attempt the recovery with different settings as many times as you need on this snapshot instead of the actual disk.

SoftAmbulance Partition
Doctor by http://softambulance.com/ is one of a few data recovery tools that allow recovering a virtual image of a damaged hard drive instead of repairing the hard drive directly. The data recovery tool lets you create a binary image of the damaged hard drive, and works with the binary image instead of the real thing. The binary image is a big file stored on another hard disk, CD, DVD or other media. The technology is similar to making an .iso image of a CD or DVD disc, only SoftAmbulance Partition Doctor extends it to partitions or even entire disks.

The Benefits of Maintaining Your Body's Healthy pH Level

With today's busy lifestyle, it has become quintessential to protect your body's health. Pollution is also eating us away bit by bit. Sickness and disease connected with stress, depression and pressure connected with work and making money has become a trend nowadays. But working and making money is not an activity that we can just walk away from for the sake of our health.

Precarious eating habits are also not helpful to our body. What we put into our mouths can either help us get healthy or contribute to our body's demise. There are other things we should also watch on aside from sugar levels, blood pressure and cholesterol. And what I'm talking about is our blood's pH level.

Our blood's pH level is perhaps the single most important measurement we should watch on. Healthy blood pH is around 7.4, which is slightly alkaline; this level must be maintained in order for our body to function well. The maintenance of our blood's healthy pH level is essential to our body's functions. Functions which are affected with your pH level are blood flow, cell function, fat accumulation, and bone density.

The smoothness of our body's blood flow is determined by the electrical charge that is coated on each individual red blood cell. Each red blood cell is assigned a negative charge so that they will not attract each other, similar to what two magnets with similar poles do when you put them together. When your blood's pH level goes down, it means your blood has become acidic. What acidity does to your red blood cells is that it strips off that charge in each red blood cell; making the individual red blood cell stick together, forming clumps that make blood flow slower. Slower blood flow means lesser oxygen going to your body, dropping your performance.

If your blood is acidic its pH level is low, but if it is more alkaline, your pH level is high, if your blood has a higher pH level, that means you have a higher threshold of hydrogen ions. The presence of hydrogen ions halts muscle function, and the more that you have in your body, the more your muscle is bound to work slowly. Having a higher blood pH level means that your blood can accommodate more hydrogen ions before it begins to spread into the muscles and make it stop working. This means, that you can burn more energy while requiring less oxygen, allowing your body to tolerate the production of lactic acid more and enabling your body to perform things longer.

Hence, if you want you're an athlete who needs a boost or just a normal individual longing to increase your body's performance, it is important that you watch for your body's pH level. You can do this by taking a simple saliva test that can be done with some acid paper strips which can be bought at local drugstores.

Acidity in your body also destroys cells and makes you fat. Your body reacts very defensively at the presence of acids, since, as I have said earlier, it affects how your body functions. Rising acidity is harmful to the vital information storage centers in your cells, the RNA, which if occurs makes it possible for mutations, toxicity or even cancer to develop. When this threat is apparent, what your body does is to coat your cells with fatty tissues just to shield it from rising blood acidity, making you need more fat. So the more your blood becomes acidic, the more you become fat.

Rising blood acidity also lowers your bone density. The body tries so hard to regulate the body's ph level that it releases buffers to counter that acidity. Releasing buffers into the body is a good thing, but, how the body does it is not good for the bones. Each and every time your pH level drops, which means rising acidity levels, the body uses the calcium in your bones as buffers to maintain that crucial level of pH 7.4! This eventually lowers you bone density making you prone to osteoporosis and weak bone structure.

It's very hard to replenish calcium levels you've lost through supplying buffers, that is why you need a good source of alkaline to help make your blood more alkaline and supply buffers for your body. Green vegetablesalkaline foods and around 20% acidic foods. Supplements and other products are also readily available. Products like Xooma Xtreme X2O, and sodium bicarbonate also help you balance your pH level. This product does not only help you in lowering your blood pH level & maintain your body's health, but it also makes it possible for you to make money at the same time. Xooma also offers a lucrative Online MLM options to those who want to earn money. You can go here if you want to know more about Xooma Xtreme X2O and Online MLM.

It's about time that you take good care of your body. Now that you know that what you eat can contribute a lot to how your body works and how it performs, isn't it about time that you give your utmost attention on your diet. Think about it, you will gain a lot if you balance your lifestyle and diet, but you will certainly lose a lot if you do not start being conscious. So eat healthy and be wealthy!
and fruits are a good source of alkaline, while meat and processed foods are acidic. A healthy diet will consist of 80%
